Songs I think you should listen to.

Hey everyone, how have you been? These last few days have been so sad with heart breaking news about police brutality and violence and innocent people losing their lives in the process. I pray for protection and safety and I pray God’s love dwells in all our hearts. Well I think it is very easy to guess what I would be sharing in this post. I will simply be sharing some songs that I listen to and reasons why I think you should listen to them. I will like to state that I really do not have a particular type of music that I listen to. I just listen what I like, and my choices are influenced by a lot of factors. By the way, there is a gift at the end of the post for you.

  1. No Longer Slaves- Bethel Music

The way this song makes me feel so many emotions! I first heard it in 2018 during a karaoke with my sister and her friends and it has been my absolute jam ever since. This song constantly reminds me of my identity as a believer, the lyrics are so personal. It also makes me so much calmer before my exams because I am reminded that there is no fear.

2. Queendom- Aurora

I heard this song from the show, Elite (that show actually gave me good music to listen to). The lyrics of this song particularly relates with the activist in me and I have listened to some other songs by Aurora and I think she makes good music.

3. Jore- Adekunle Gold (feat. Kizz Daniel)

The AG stan in me will not let this song rest. It is so good to dance to and hearing ‘’AG baby is your baby” gets you hyped in some way almost all the time. It is one of the first songs I lisen to when I am trying to get work done.

4. Insecure- Chike

I listened to Chike’s Boo of the Booless album recently and it is such beautiful masterpiece. Insecure is my favorite song on the album for reasons I have not yet discovered.

5. Fragrance to Fire- Dunsin Oyekan

Dunsin Oyekan makes amazing music (emphasis on ‘amazing’). This song gets me so charged up to pray. An amazing worship song that you should listen to. Definitely one of those songs that make me shed all my tears

6. Walk Alone- Rudimental (feat. Tom Walker)

Tom Walker sounded too good on this song and who does not like love songs. Now that I think about it, this would be a really nice song to make one of those cute videos of you and your partner.

7. Faith- Galantis & Dolly Parton (feat. Mr. Probz)

Anyone who likes electronic pop should definitely listen to Galantis, all their albums till date. My favorite is ‘The Aviary’, so you can start with it. I like this song because it has relatable lyrics, everyone actually wants someone to have faith in them at some point. And also, Dolly Parton is an amazing singer!

This post will probably get too long so I should stop here. Do not forget to stay alert and stay safe because there is still a virus in town. Everyone deserves a measure of love, never forget that. Thank you for reading and sending you all my love always.

P.S My gift is a playlist of songs that I listen to and I think are really amazing. The link is below

My name is Toyosi Adeniran (actually “Adeniran Ifeoluwatoyosi Abigail” which is quite long lol ) and just call me “TheToyosiAdeniran” because I feel like the ‘the’ gives it this catch and makes it seem like it’s just one name. You know the way some people say they are something by day and another thing by night, well I am a medical student everyday (both day and night). I am also an aspiring public speaker and very passionate about people knowing their rights and having those rights protected. And above all, I am a Christian and my faith is very important to me.
