Learning to Love

Hey everyone, it has been a while. I was caught up with exams, but a girl is done now and living her best life. I went to church last week and I must say it felt good, different but good. I really do hope you have been good and most importantly finding happiness in what you are doing, whatever it is.

I remember in one of my previous posts, I mentioned that everyone deserves a measure of love. I think it will be better to say everyone deserves love. It might seem really hard, because humans do different messed up things (myself included). These past few weeks made me realize that love makes a lot of things if not all things easier.

As a Christian, one basic thing I learnt that love is the basis for everything. A lot of things seem hard at first but understanding love just makes everything easier. I can’t even say that there is this specific way to love but I know it is something you deliberately make conscious effort to do, till it becomes a part of you somehow.

There are times when I would have given certain replies to some certain situations and because of this love thing that I practice, I find myself trying to remedy the situations. Love makes everything better and it is a fact. Love makes you forgive, repentant, respectful, and a whole lot of other things. You can definitely have some of these attributes without love, but love creates a sort of ripple effect that makes it easier to develop these attitudes.

The thing I have noticed is that there is a point where you avoid bad situations and conflicts because you love. I mean when you love people genuinely for just the sake of love and not because of the things they can offer you. I mean if you love everyone, you will not be a racist, or any of those things because you recognize people as equal and all deserving of love.

Love does not excuse bad behavior, it helps you discover better ways to react and process these issues. I have learnt that I cannot control how another person chooses to love, but I can definitely choose how I love. And when I choose to love unconditionally without bias, I can show people how amazing it is to love and help them love people also in better ways. So yes, you should choose to love today.

Thank you for reading my “not so long” post and I really do hope you tell someone how much you love them today. Please there is still a virus in town, so stay alert and stay safe. You have all my love, always.

My name is Toyosi Adeniran (actually “Adeniran Ifeoluwatoyosi Abigail” which is quite long lol ) and just call me “TheToyosiAdeniran” because I feel like the ‘the’ gives it this catch and makes it seem like it’s just one name. You know the way some people say they are something by day and another thing by night, well I am a medical student everyday (both day and night). I am also an aspiring public speaker and very passionate about people knowing their rights and having those rights protected. And above all, I am a Christian and my faith is very important to me.
