19!

Hey everyone, how have you been? It has been a very long while and I really do apologize, please forgive me. Thank you for stopping by. A girl is back, better and older! My birthday was last week and I had an amazing day courtesy of all the amazing people I have around me. Going into my 19th year, I have learnt a whole lot and I would like to share some of these things with you.

Top of my list has to be being more intentional about my friendships. I mean I want to start paying more attention. I believe it is very easy sometimes to forget that you are supposed to pay attention to your friends. I have always been a person to struggle with gifting people, I never know what to get them. I recently learnt that for most of my friends it is not supposed to be that difficult if I listened a bit more. It is really important that your actions show how much you care.

I have also learnt to make peace with my past. I believe this is very important to be happy. I remember my friend saying one time that she cannot be shamed with anything that she has made peace with. During the last year, there were situations in which I felt very uncomfortable and insecure because of something that I had done wrong sometime somewhere. I do not have it all figured out yet but it has gotten easier because I have accepted that they were just mistakes and I am allowed to make mistakes.

There are things I want to unlearn too. I do not want to be that person that does not allow another person express himself/herself. I want to genuinely give people the opportunity to be themselves in my space, not to define them by a singular thing they have done. I want to make a conscious effort to see the best in people around me.

I want to take life a little bit less seriously. I want to live really. I know I am approaching adulthood proper and I want to chase all my dreams but I also want to live in the moment making beautiful memories and also look at the future filled with so much optimism. And most importantly love myself and give out love at every point of the journey.

Thank you for stopping by, you are amazing and you really do deserve all the love. Stay safe, stay alert and see you next time. You have all my love always.

My name is Toyosi Adeniran (actually “Adeniran Ifeoluwatoyosi Abigail” which is quite long lol ) and just call me “TheToyosiAdeniran” because I feel like the ‘the’ gives it this catch and makes it seem like it’s just one name. You know the way some people say they are something by day and another thing by night, well I am a medical student everyday (both day and night). I am also an aspiring public speaker and very passionate about people knowing their rights and having those rights protected. And above all, I am a Christian and my faith is very important to me.
